as co-founder of visionary shoegaze duo Them Are Us Too (alongside the late, lamented Cash Askew) through her growing body of solo work on Dais Records, she has steadily honed her multi-octave range and moodswing songcraft into an increasingly potent poetic voice. 2019’s celebrated debut, Unreality, showcased a deepening gift for melodic dynamics and emotive exorcism – a mode she half-seriously coined “griefwave.” The album’s passionate response prompted extensive live dates, further sharpening her natural performative instincts. 2022’s new work further confirms Kennedy as an essential generational talent, able to synthesize private struggles and sorrows into stirring, redemptive anthems. Hers is a music of tumult and triumph, darkest night breaking into brightest dawn, where anguish blurs and becomes acceptance. SRSQ’s seeds have only just begun to bloom; looming tours, videos, and more will inevitably hasten an already radiant refinement.

Friends! I have a very special announcement to make. January 16th I will be hosting my first event at @deadringer_reno this will be my birthday party and you all are invited. No cover. Just tip your bar tenders well.I have long envisioned events in Reno built around the idea of a more melodic approach at dance music. I have personally attached to this music for the past several years and I am excited to bring this vibe to our community. @melodic_teknika is happy to have @keipacheco open the night from 10-11 and then I will take over for a special 3 hour set until 2am. I invite you all to please come, enjoy the vibes and loose yourself in the music and community. Can’t wait to see you there!
tic duo of Meg Pohlod and Anna Newman, creates community-focused, accessible art using repurposed materials. Their work often incorporates discarded objects like shipping cartons, found photographs, and textiles, each marked by history and wear. This focus on the life cycle of materials shapes their creative process, imbuing each piece with a connection to both the past and present. By giving new life and community to objects that might otherwise be overlooked, PressYess invites viewers to reflect on the stories and memories embedded within these materials, creating art that feels both personal and universally relatable. Their practice emphasizes sustainability, collaboration, and the idea that even the most humble materials can carry deep meaning when reimagined with care.
Drawing on the PressYess archive of 1000s of vintage slides, some from our own families and many many more that are found images, we will create a cozy viewing environment where visitors can watch projected slide shows, curate and project their own slide shows using vintage projectors, slide viewers, and slide carousels, and share their own slides in daily slideshow potlucks.
Family SlideShow will have seating (provided by PRESSYESS) arranged in front of a large pulldown projection screen as well as two stations where visitors can explore the PRESSYESS slide archive and load carousels and cassettes to create their own shows. The Serva Pool walls not involved in viewing will be hung with dozens of small printed found photos and snapshots.
