Black Rabbit Mead Company
Black Rabbit Mead Company is a craft meadery based in Reno and is recognized as Nevada’s first meadery. The company specializes in “cider-style” meads made with honey sourced from the Sierra Nevada region. Their meads are typically semi-dry, carbonated, gluten-free, and infused with fruits, herbs, or spices. The company was founded by two local high school teachers, Jake and Will, who started experimenting with mead after receiving honey and a mead-making kit from another teacher and beekeeper, Al from Al’s Bees.
