The Pastime Club

Pastime Club is a historic dive bar in downtown Truckee, known for its old-school local vibe, live music, shuffleboard, pool tables, and late-night crowd. It’s considered one of the oldest bars in Truckee — with roots dating back to the late 1800s (around 1886–1896). The bar has become part of Truckee’s local culture because of its unpolished, authentic atmosphere compared with the more upscale Tahoe-area venues. Articles and local reviews describe it as a “scrappy saloon” with strong community character, loud music, cheap drinks, and a loyal local following.
