Dexter and the Moonrocks are a four-piece alt-rock band from Abilene, Texas, who formed in 2021 and quickly made waves by blending grunge riffs, alt-rock energy and country storytelling into their self-coined genre “Western Space Grunge”. Their breakout came with the viral single “Couch” and later “Sad in Carolina”, which rocketed them from local bars to radio #1, proving their small-town grit could reach nationwide impact. With their self-assured sound and DIY roots (members include a fry cook, an oil-field operator, a kids’ baseball coach and a concrete-surface decorator), they’ve become one of the most exciting rising acts in American rock.
