The Reno Musician's Collective presents another special night of music and stories featuring Jeff Voss, Doug Steigerwald, Keely Nesbit & Eddie B!
Jeff Voss describes himself as a "one man acoustic stomp band who spent way too much time in a Carson City trailer park."
Doug's musical life started on Long Island at the age of 16, where he was fortunate enough to be surrounded and influenced by many prolific local musicians. He began gigging regularly in bars, and before he even graduated high school, he was already touring in a show band, moving back and forth between guitar and bass, and even spent time playing bass for a reformed version of the legendary 60’s rock group, Vanilla Fudge. He continued to pursue his musical career even as he joined the Air Force and raised a family, moving around to New Mexico, Idaho, and England, and eventually settling in Las Vegas. In Vegas, his band became a fixture in the Vegas blues clubs, including a residency as the house band at the House of Blues Restaurant in Mandalay Bay. He went on to write, produce, and play music in the Bay Area from 2007 to 2015 (The Lean Mean Blues Band) and Santa Cruz (Blues Suspects) between 2015 and 2022. Now based in Reno, Doug is channeling his influences—from rock and funk to his specialties in blues and Americana—into his next major project. He’s currently focusing on finishing his second album, identifying the right players, and launching his next performance phase. You can find Doug and his music on Facebook, Youtube, ReverbNation, and SoundCloud.
Keely Nesbit is an acoustic indie/folk singer-songwriter whose music explores the depth of human emotion with honesty and vulnerability. Drawing inspiration from a wide range of genres, from post-hardcore and emo to bluegrass and folk, her sound reflects an ever-evolving blend of intensity and softness. Keely currently performs with the indie/folk duo Passive & Co and the five-piece band It’s Not Cute Anymore, continuing to evolve her craft through honest performances and a deep love for community-driven music.
Eddie B. is a local well-loved Reno songwriter and self-proclaimed open mic maniac. His songs are sometimes humorous, sometimes thought-provoking, but always masterfully written and sure to engage his audience!
al vocals. Their sound is raw, fast, and unapologetically abrasive—built for the pit and nothing else. Every set feels like a 90-second detonation stretched across a full-force assault.
Best Friends — RENO GRINDVIOLENCEBest Friends bring Reno’s signature brand of grindviolence: chaotic, tongue-in-cheek, and violently fun. Their songs whip by in flashes of blast beats, distortion, and unhinged energy. The band thrives on whiplash tempo changes and the kind of camaraderie that only comes from shared sonic destruction.
Puppy Mill — DFW DRUM AND BASSPuppy Mill smashes drum-and-bass rhythms into hardcore grit, creating a sound that’s both danceable and dangerously heavy. Their live sets pulse with frantic tempo, deep bass hits, and a whirlwind of percussive chaos. DFW’s underground knows them as the act that turns every room into a pressure cooker.
Pain God — AUSTIN POWERVIOLENCEPain God delivers Austin powerviolence at its most merciless, stitching together microscopic songs with maximum intensity. Their music swings between blistering speed and crushing slowdowns, keeping audiences constantly off-balance. Each performance feels like a ritual of catharsis, noise, and pure adrenaline.
Swiss — AUSTIN FASTSwiss lives up to their reputation as one of Austin’s fastest bands, firing off songs with razor-sharp precision and zero wasted motion. Their sound is stripped down, high-velocity, and meant to hit before you even know what happened. Fans show up for the speed but stay for the tight musicianship beneath the chaos.

lessas co-founder of visionary shoegaze duo Them Are Us Too (alongside the late, lamented Cash Askew) through her growing body of solo work on Dais Records, she has steadily honed her multi-octave range and moodswing songcraft into an increasingly potent poetic voice. 2019’s celebrated debut, Unreality, showcased a deepening gift for melodic dynamics and emotive exorcism – a mode she half-seriously coined “griefwave.” The album’s passionate response prompted extensive live dates, further sharpening her natural performative instincts. 2022’s new work further confirms Kennedy as an essential generational talent, able to synthesize private struggles and sorrows into stirring, redemptive anthems. Hers is a music of tumult and triumph, darkest night breaking into brightest dawn, where anguish blurs and becomes acceptance. SRSQ’s seeds have only just begun to bloom; looming tours, videos, and more will inevitably hasten an already radiant refinement.
