Support young students in the 2026 Poetry Out Loud Washoe County Semifinal Competition on Friday, February 6th! This event is free and public.
Poetry Out Loud, a program of The National Endowment for the Arts and the Poetry Foundation, encourages the nation’s youth to learn about great poetry through memorization and recitation. This program helps students master public speaking skills, build self-confidence, and learn about their literary heritage.
Participating schools in 2026 include AACT, Coral Academy, Debbie Smith CTE, McQueen, Reed, and Wooster. This program is supported in part by the Nevada Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts.
