Bushyhead (Vince DiMaggio) is a soulful musician and storyteller rooted in heritage and heart. His music blends tradition with originality, creating a sound that’s both timeless and fresh.

drummer Joe Iaccino. Together, Speckmann and Schmidt formed a more aggressive metal band based around Motörhead, Venom, Slayer, and the emerging extreme metal movement. Eventually, Schmidt & Speckmann left War Cry, who (after their departure) also lost most of their heaviness. Schmidt had begun writing songs in the thrash vein as early as mid-’83 and Speckmann followed suit. They named their band Master and auditioned twenty-six guitarists, none of whom were suited to the task. This caused Schmidt to leave Master and join the local metal act Mayhem Inc.. Speckmann then started his own band, Death Strike and songs were written for Deathstrike that were later re-recorded with Master! He was joined by guitarist Chris Mittlebrun (who had auditioned for Master a year earlier, but was still stuck in Judas Priest mode) and together wrote more Death Strike songs. A second guitarist, the sixteen-year-old Kirk Miller, was brought in along with drummer John Leprich.
After Death Strike’s Fuckin’ Death demo made an impact on the underground, Bill Schmidt begged Speckmann to rejoin the band. As Death Strike drummer John Leprich could barely get the beats down for Pay to Die and was, according to Speckmann, a drunk, Schmidt reentered the fold. After kicking out Miller (who Speckman says was really just a session musician), the band was renamed, Master. Guitarist Chris Mittlebrun stayed in the band, as Schmidt was highly impressed with his songwriting skills.
Speckmann’s father had passed away and left his son an inheritance, so Speckmann invested the money in studio recordings with a promise from Schmidt to sign the first decent deal they received. Master headed into Seagrape Studios where they recorded their 1985 unreleased debut album. Somehow, rough mixes of the tracks got out and were traded throughout the underground (allegedly by Shaun Glass). Consequently, Master became a huge name in the underground.
This 1985 album was never officially released because a deal offered by Combat Records (the same deal that Death signed) fell through. Master was managed by Kim Fowley at the time, who allegedly demanded changes be made to the contract. Combat simply laughed and tore the contract up.

Dirty Heads are a reggae rock band from Huntington Beach, California. Consisting of lead vocalists and founders Jared Watson (Dirty J) and Dustin Bushnell (Duddy B), along with percussionist Jon Olazabal, drummer Matt Ochoa and bassist David Foral, the band was formed in 2001 and immediately evoked the spirit of bonfire barbeques and summer road trips. Dirty Heads’ appeal is rooted in the infectious reggae grooves of songs like 2017’s “Vacation,” which became a viral hit in 2021 as the sound behind the #VacationTransition trend on TikTok. The band’s breakthrough hit was another “song of the summer” contender: “Lay Me Down” (feat. Rome of Sublime with Rome), which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Alternative Songs and Rock Songs charts. In 2021, the band released The Best of Dirty Heads, a compilation album featuring Travis Barker, Aimee Interrupter of The Interrupters, Matisyahu, Train, Tech N9ne and Rome. Dirty Heads have hit the road with artists such as 311, O.A.R., Gym Class Heroes and Lupe Fiasco, and more.

Her musical journey took her to New York City to pursue a career as an operatic and classical musician where she discovered the freedom of expression that writing your own music can provide. Her music features lyrical lines and a vocally-driven sound influenced by artists such as Grace Potter, Lera Lynn, and Brandi Carlile. She is based in Reno where she enjoys spending time outside with her pup and performing with her band, Hail Mari.🏔️ Paige Michele Sargent of The Deepness is a vocalist and songwriter from Northern Nevada, known for her soul-stirring voice, evocative lyrics, and raw emotional depth. Under the moniker The Deepness, her music weaves folk, soul, blues, indie, country, and Americana into a deeply immersive experience.
With only a few performances left in Reno before I leave for Nashville, I’m really looking forward to sharing the stage with my friend @markston_music this Friday night at @pinonbottle south. We’ll each be sharing our original music + some covers, and we will likely be doing a bit of harmonies together...

Bear Eater is a progressive metalcore band from Northern Nevada, blending complex rhythms and heavy riffs with emotionally charged vocals. Their music pushes boundaries while maintaining a fierce intensity that captivates listeners with both technical skill and raw power.

Shocktober is a month-long celebration of the Halloween season. It originated on the Rock Solid Pressure syndicated radio broadcast in 2003 on the east coast. The live Shocktober concert events started in 2006 and continues to this day. This will be the 5th west coast edition, and the 19th anniversary of the event.
