highly obscure & underrated The Wild Flowers, the trio have garnered a cult-like following in the goth/alternative underground through their catchy melancholic soundscapes and energetic live performances. Not afraid to stand out, DECEITS took it upon themselves to play post-punk that wasn’t restricted to just being cold and monotone. Founded on a shared endearment of bands like The Cure, Human Tetris, Motorama, The Chameleons and For Against, and not afraid to pull from influences outside of the “goth” musical tree, the band is made up of Kevin “Puppy” Moreno (Vocals, Bass Guitar, Keyboards), Skylar Francise (Guitars) and Francisco Saenz (Percussions).

Tempo is an exploration and indulgence of dancehall grooves, ambient textures, trance mantras, and MIDI smoothness. The Montreal and Victoria based duo – comprised of Steve Lind and Thomas Di Ninno – created a record that is a sophisticated blend of post-punk, psych, dub, ambient, house, and techno. The album and its lead single “In a Moment Divine” were critical favourites featured on many year end lists including Resident Advisor, Crack Magazine and Gorilla vs. Bear.
Just a little over two years since the release of his debut album Opening the Door, Jack J re-emerges with a new full length album. On Blue Desert, the Australian-born Vancouver-based multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter and producer wades deeper into the stylistically prismatic pool of his own creation: melancholy dub-funk, jangling psychedelia, moon-burnt sophisti-pop and stained glass folk mutations float freely together.

The album showcased her prodigious talent as a songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. In 2019, she signed to Sacred Bones and released her highly anticipated sophomore album, Mazy Fly, further elevating her artistic vision and expanding her sonic palette. In 2021 she released her breakthrough project, The Turning Wheel, which saw her orchestrating and self-producing an album that features an ensemble of 31 collaborating musicians. The Turning Wheel has become a career-defining opus for the artist. The album received widespread unanimous praise, earning itself The Needle Drops #1 album of the year in 2021.

Preformer is a genre-defying indie rock quartet based in Los Angeles, California. Formed in 2022 at the California Institute of the Arts, the band quickly began crafting a distinct sonic identity by blending intricate rhythms from West Africa, India, Eastern Europe, and Black American Music with the raw energy and introspection of indie rock, folk, and grammy award winning traditional pop.
The band consists of Greg Miles Lewis (drums/electronics), Redfield Clipper (guitar/vocals), Jolee Gordon (vocals), and June Higgins (bass/vocals), a quartet equally devoted to discovering song in the oblong and normalizing oblique feels in rhythmic and tonal design. Together, they craft music that is at once cerebral and emotionally resonant, layering odd meters, polyrhythms, and rich vocal harmony over atmospheric textures and melodic hooks, all in the mantra of unifying the simple and complex under the mission statement of universal accessibility.
Rooted in a shared passion for global musical traditions and experimental composition, Preformer thrives at the intersection of technical precision and common song. Their live shows are known for their dynamic range-shifting from calm, hypnotic grooves to explosive, asymmetrical improvisations—creating an immersive experience that confounds and comforts audiences.
Preformer continues to push the boundaries of what indie rock and traditional song can be, honoring their diverse influences while forging new musical territory from their creative base in Los Angeles.
