America — now led by founding member and vocalist-guitarist Dewey Bunnell — is a classic folk-rock band that rose to fame in the early 1970s with hits like “A Horse with No Name,” “Ventura Highway,” and “Tin Man.”
Bunnell co-founded the group with Gerry Beckley and Dan Peek while they were high school students in London, and their harmonies and laid-back acoustic style quickly won global audiences. More than five decades later, Bunnell remains the heart of America, carrying the band’s legacy forward with ongoing tours and a timeless catalog.
