Julian Marley is the son of reggae legend Bob Marley and Barbados-born Lucy Pounder. Growing up in a musical environment, he became aself-taught musician, mastering various instruments including the bass,drums, guitar, andkeyboards. His debut album, “Lion in the Morning,” released in 1996, showcased his roots and heritage, leading to aninternational tour with The Uprising.
In 1998, Julian contributed to Lauryn Hill’s Grammy-winning album,”The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill,” and in 2003, he released hissophomore album, “A Time and Place,” which blended reggae and jazz.His 2009 album, “Awake,” was Grammy-nominated and won ‘BestAlbum of the Year’ at the International Reggae and World MusicAwards (IRAWMA) in 2010.
Recognized for his contributions to the consciousness movement in music, Julian is a devout Rastafarian whose work is deeply inspired by life and spirituality. In 2023, he won a Grammy for his album “Colors of Royal” and received another nomination for the2024 awards, solidifying his ongoing impact in the reggae genre.
Julian is expanding his brand and has several projects outside of music in the works, including a partnership with Bio Biz, a global company that focuses on sustainable cannabis solutions.As he prepares to release his next music project, Julian continues to tour and share his message globally, embodying his father’s legacy while forging his unique path.

Opening the show is Broken Compass, an up-and-coming string band that’s quickly making a name for itself.
The Terrapin Roadshow is a traveling concert series celebrating the spirit, energy, and community of Phil and Jill Lesh’s Terrapin Crossroads, bringing world-class music to three of Northern California’s most scenic and intimate outdoor venues. The music is deeply rooted in the Grateful Dead songbook and style while allowing space for exploration and improvisation. Expect to hear your favorite songs from the ‘60s through today performed by world-class musicians in stunning settings.
