r an era of endless uncertainty. On their 2021 debut album Future Forecast, the Melbourne-based five-piece offered up a barrage of songs matching their frenetic sound with both self-aware outpouring and incisive observation of the world around them—a dynamic that’s earned massive critical acclaim as well as admiration from the likes of punk legend Henry Rollins. As further shown on their upcoming sophomore full-length Taken By Force—an album the band aptly sums up as “1984 meets Endless Summer”—CIVIC joyfully obliterate the line between furious catharsis and unbridled fun, introducing a vital new energy into today’s musical landscape.

be building – from scratch – a 555-based synthesizer with modulation and wave-shaping controls. Synths will be built with components on perfboard, not in enclosures, but you will have everything you need to find a fitting enclosure and install your synth in it on your own. The synth is modular and scalable: we will be building a single oscillator, but you will learn all you need to know to add as many oscillators to the circuit as you want and even modify values and components for maximum sound manipulation potential.
Registration is required for this workshop and space is limited. No soldering experience necessary – all materials and tools provided and covered by cost of workshop. Participants under 14 should be accompanied by an adult.
In this hands-on workshop participants will create unique miniature sculptures that will sprout and grow throughout the summer. This is a wonderful opportunity for participants to visit the garden and get creative while connecting with nature and community.

ille’s staunch DIY networks have given the band the launchpad they’ve needed to build their notorious live stage presence and begin harboring intimate fan connection. They never wanted to be known as a local band, going big time on their own terms was always the goal. Sweet Spine always had aimed to carve out their own scene. Initially the band members waited tables, worked in factories, and finished school to help fund the band. Throughout the year of 2023, the band released four break out singles, garnering the likes of millions. The band recalls it as an intimidating time, as within months, hundreds of thousands of people were listening. This meteoric push instilled an unwavering devotion in the band. It gave them the hope to realize their dream could come to fruition.
Fast forward a year from then, as a result of incredible dedication to their brand and craft, their album “break//neck” arrives. It is an album that leads with intention, but embraces a broad range of ideas. It’s devoutly eclectic, it’s hung together by an emotional truth, and a profound sense of unity.
